Kaleva Community and Finnish Heritage Scholarship Fund
Scholarship
The Kaleva Community and Finnish Heritage Scholarship Fund was created by Melvin Fennell, a 1958 graduate of Kaleva High School. Mr. Fennell saw the contributions that the students of Brethren High School were making to the community of Kaleva. As a result, he wanted to give back to the community himself. Mr. Fennell established the Fund to encourage others to volunteer and contribute to their communities, and to help students to begin to finance their futures and encourage them to continue their education. More than $30,000 in scholarships has been awarded since the Fund was established in 1998.
