Ludington Beverage STRIVE Scholarship Fund

The Ludington Beverage STRIVE Scholarship Fund was created to support the Manistee Sunrise Rotary Club's STRIVE program in cooperation with Manistee High School. The STRIVE program was implemented to help struggling students improve their academic and attendance records through the involvement of adult community mentors.
Generally, annual awards from this Fund support two purposes. They provide operational support for the STRIVE program and also fund a $500 scholarship for a STRIVE participant who will be attending West Shore Community College.

About the STRIVE Program
The STRIVE program identifies students who could benefit from adult guidance and encouragement to improve their grades and attendance. These students are then paired up with Rotary Club members who act as mentors. The mentors encourage the students to improve their grades and attend classes on a regular basis.
From both the students and mentors perspectives, the STRIVE program has been a success. Past participants have earned grades and attendance with this program that have far exceeded their previous achievements. Students have commented on the positive impact of the mentoring experience and its influence on their motivation and approach to academics.
