A Regional Pathway to Philanthropy

Michigan is blessed with a strong network of larger community foundations and smaller affiliate organizations that assure state-wide coverage of Community Foundation services to every location in Michigan.

Affiliation with Community Foundation for Muskegon County

In January 2009, the Manistee County Community Foundation affiliated with the Community Foundation for Muskegon County. The Muskegon Foundation provides centralized financial management and administrative support for its affiliate units, which include the Manistee Community Foundation, the Community Foundation for Mason County, and the Community Foundation for Oceana County. The Community Foundation for Muskegon County is one of the Top 6 community foundations in Michigan and among the Top 100 in the U.S.  Today they manage over 935 funds and hold assets of over $112 million.

Through this partnership, affiliated community foundations are able to leverage important resources, share experiences and expertise, and provide improved service to their communities.
