Oceana County Foundation

The first affiliate foundation in the state of Michigan, the Community Foundation for Oceana County (CFOC) joined the Muskegon Foundation in 1989.

The 2009 Oceana County Foundation accomplishments include:

• 58 grants were approved totaling $152,666 back to the community
• Awarded scholarships to 152 students, including renewals, which represents commitments over the next four years of $171,600
• Oceana County YAC approved 13 grants totaling $6,787, which includes 11 classroom project grants at school districts in Oceana County
• $160,441 in gifts and grants, including 2 bequest gifts of $54,000
• 146 new donors for a total of $24,425 in gifts
• 10 people were memorialized/honored with gifts to the Foundation
• Created 3 new named funds for a total of 64 funds in the Foundation
• Total assets as of 12/31/09: $5,898,285
