Letter from the Executive Director
Dear Friends,
Our purpose is simple – to connect charitable giving with the needs of Manistee County. Our motto is lasting – for good, for ever. With your support, the Manistee County Community Foundation builds endowed funds that make a positive and permanent impact on the issues in Manistee County that you care about most.
Highlights of our impact during 2009 include providing:
• Grants for each of our County’s six school districts, tailored to meet the most pressing needs of their students, awarded by the Manistee County Youth Advisory Committee Fund.
• Access for people of all ages and abilities to the new Paine Aquatic Center through a grant to support the purchase of a pool-friendly wheel chair.
• Support for 24 young people and their families through scholarship awards that help offset the cost of higher education.
• Resources to help brand Manistee County – a marketing initiative aimed at bringing new businesses, jobs, customers, tourists, and families to Manistee County to help all of our communities and organizations achieve their full potential.
Remember that by making a gift to the Manistee County Community Foundation you do good work in our community that lasts forever. By donating to any of our more than forty endowed funds, or by creating a new fund, your gift meets the needs of today and the unknown needs of the future.
Thank you for your confidence in us.
Sincerely,
Laura Heintzelman
Executive Director
